Our Legislators championed the West Plains to see many of our important projects funded
On Sunday, the Washington State Legislature approved a new capital budget that proposes to spend $4.9 billion over two years. Under this budget, historic investments are made in K-12 schools and mental and behavioral health institutions, with $1.09 billion and $308 million appropriated respectively. Additional investments include $973.6 million for higher education facilities, $125 million for the Public Works Assistance Account, and $175 million for housing.
The budget also appropriates more than $95.5 million for various projects throughout the 6th Legislative District including these projects in the West Plains
• roughly $39 million for various projects at Eastern Washington University;
• more than $33 million for necessary improvements and safety upgrades to Eastern State Hospital and Lakeland Village;
• $5.5 million to build affordable housing units in Airway Heights' Highland Village;
